Sarracenia alata ( Yellow Trumpets )
A moderate growing, perennial that is native to the southeastern U.S. ( from eastern Texas to southwest Alabama; south to the Gulf Coast...a separate population occurs in Georgia ).
Hardy zones 6 to 9 ( 5 on protected sites ).

Sarracenia x catesbyi
A perennial, reaching up to 3 x 3 feet, that is native to the southeastern U.S. ( from Alabama to Pennsylvania; south to far northern Florida on the coastal plain ).
The red flowers are borne during spring.
Hardy zones 5 to 9 in full sun on moist, acidic, humus-rich, very well drained soil.

Sarracenia flava ( Yellow Pitcherplant )
A clumping perennial, reaching up to 3 x 3 feet, that is native to pine flatlands and savanna in the southeastern U.S. ( from southern Alabama to western North Carolina to southeast Virginia; south to northern Florida...with a separate population in New Jersey ).
The yellowish-green flowers, up to 3 inches wide, are borne during spring.
Hardy zones 6 to 9 in full sun on moist, acidic, humus-rich, well drained soil.

Sarracenia leucophylla ( Whitetop Pitcher Plant )
A perennial, reaching up to 2 x 1.3 feet; that is native to pine flatland and savanna in the southeastern U.S. ( from southern Mississippi to southwest Georgia; south to northwestern Florida...with a separate population in North Carolina ).
Hardy zones 6 to 9 in full sun on wet, sandy or peaty soil.

Sarracenia minor ( Hooded Pitcher Plant )
A perennial, reaching up to 2 feet in height, that is native from southeast Alabama to southeast North Carolina; south to central Florida ).
The flowers are borne all summer long.

Sarracenia purpurea ( Purple Pitcherplant )
A perennial, reaching up to 1.7 ( rarely over 1 ) feet, that is native to much of North America ( from British Columbia to Northwest Territories to Winisk, Ontario to Labrador & Newfoundland; south to Washington State to Minnesota to northern Illinois to central Ohio to South Carolina..with a separate population from Louisiana to southwest Georgia; south to northwest Florida ). It is found in acidic bogs in coniferous forests in the wild.
The flowers are borne late summer to early summer.
Hardy zones 2 to 9 in full sun to partial shade on wet, sandy or peaty soil.
