Celosia argentea plumosa
An annual reaching up to 4 x 1.5 ( record is 7 x 2.3 ) feet. Great for use in landscape borders and in pots.
The leaves, up to 6 x 2.5 inches, are luxuriant mid-green.
The plume-like flower inflorescences, up to 9 inches in length, are yellow, orange or red. The flowers are borne all summer long, often until autumn frost.
Thrives in full sun on just about any fertile, well drained soil. Prefers a warm site and is drought tolerant. Plant during spring after threat of frost has passed.

Similar but dwarf in habit, reaching only 1 foot in height.
'Intenz'
Reaches up to 18 inches in height with bright purple-pink plumes, up to 3.2 inches long.
The leaves are up to 6 x 2.2 inches in size. The foliage is leathery.

'Pampas Plume'
Vigorous and compact, reaching up to 3.3 x 2.5 feet. It is one of the best cultivars.
The foliage is purple.
The flowers are deep rose-pink.
