The flowers, up to , are borne in clusters up to 3 feet in length and borne on 6 foot long stems during spring.

The foliage is luxuriant medium green.
The creamy-yellow flowers are borne on spikes up to 6 feet in length.
They are followed by leathery, brown capsules.
