Woodsia Fern


Woodsia obtusa ( Blunt-Lobed Woodsia )
A fern native to eastern North America ( from southeast Minnesota to central Michigan to Kincardine, Ontario to Ottawa, Ontario to southeast Quebec to Maine; south to eastern Texas to central Georgia ). It is endangered in Canada and is mostly found south and east of Ottawa. It is often found on rock faces on cliffs in the wild.
The fronds are up to 24 x 6 inches in size. They contain 8 to 17 pairs of bipinnate leaflets. They remain verdant bright green until late autumn.
