Snow Poppy

Eomecon chionantha
A fast spreading, rhizomatous perennial, reaching up to 16 inches in height, that is native to forests of eastern China and much of Japan.
The attractive, leathery, kidney-shaped leaves, up to 10.5 x 8 inches in size, are mid-green.
The pure white flowers, up to 2 inches wide, are borne on loose panicles during late spring, often lasting into mid-summer.
Hardy zones 6 to 8 in partial shade on moist, humus-rich, well drained soil. Propagation is from seed or division during early spring.
